Shorewood PTSA
Goals for 2007-08:

Insure that every student of our school community is treated with respect, dignity and worth.

Work collaboratively with our students, parents, and staff to acknowledge and address issues concerning the diversity of our community.

We believe in working together to build stronger partnerships between home and school.  This is achieved by providing communication through our newsletters and website.

Our PTSA organization is comprised of parents and other concerned adults devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of parent involvement in schools.  PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that prides itself on being a powerful voice for children, a relevant resource for parents, and a strong advocate for public education.  Membership in PTA is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.

The objectives of PTA include:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
