WELCOME TO SHOREWOOD PTSA

The Shorewood High School PTSA vision statement:

We commit to supporting students in preparing for life after high school as caring, capable, and joyful young adults. We do this in partnership with the school and community organizations by co-creating relevant education, an appreciation of difference, and a safe learning environment for every student.

See our Shared Beliefs here.

We provide programs that include:

  • Staff and Student Club grants

  • Staff appreciation lunches

  • Funding for homework support programs, intervention, career center opportunities, and advanced enrichment programs

  • Cupcake surprise!

  • Student scholarship funds

  • Shorewood PTSA newsletter

  • Community services such as the WORKS

  • Advocacy for children at all levels of government

  • Parent education speakers

  • And more!

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Shorewood High School PTSA Board of Directors stands firmly behind the district’s decision to prioritize the safety and support of LGBTQIA+ and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in our school community.

Our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are rooted in a strong belief that, as a school community, we can only thrive if all families and students of historically marginalized groups fundamentally feel like they belong, and that they are seen and heard.

Are you looking for a minimal time commitment but highly impactful volunteer opportunity? Forefront Suicide Prevention is looking for caregiver/parent volunteers!

Suicide is the second leading cause of death of youths in Washington and the US. Shorewood and Shorecrest participate in Forefront in the Schools, a program designed by UW to guide schools through policy development and curriculum improvements to help address mental health and suicide prevention efforts.

Twice a year we give a suicide prevention presentation and we need presenters! For more information, click here.
